WHO IS CASSIOPEIA?
​
Cassiopeia Guthrie is an accomplished educator and executive with nearly 20 years of success leveraging experience in curriculum design, digital content development, project management, and business leadership across the education, media/entertainment, and information technology industries. Throughout her career, Cassiopeia has held leadership positions within the public, nonprofit, and start-up sectors; she presently serves as a District Educational Technology Teacher on Special Assignment for the Escondido Union High School District.
Cassiopeia is on the Advisory Council of BIPOC Support Foundation (where she runs quarterly book club events focused on anti-racism and marginalized communities), serves as an ambassador for the San Diego Performing Arts League’s Theatre Alliance (for whom she has supported/moderated roundtables focused on communities of color and women), is on the Board of Directors for Patio Playhouse (a 501c3 theatre in Escondido, California), and is on the Advisory Board for More Than Apples (a food redistribution organization providing meals to families in need in the North County region).
Cassiopeia holds a BA in Journalism, will finish her MBA in 2021, and possesses teaching credentials in K-12 education (English, Social Science, Multiple Subjects) with dual emphases in middle level education (ages 10-13) and biliteracy education (Spanish).
