CASSIOPEIA GUTHRIE (SHE/HER/HERS)

An accomplished journalist, educator, and consultant with expertise in community relations, project management, experience/content design, curriculum writing, and K-12 education, Cassiopeia leverages storytelling to inspire the imperative: courageous, creative, equity-minded, and empowered communities ready to change the world. After 12 years of balancing credits as an actor, producer, and costumer with managing local nonprofits including a 501c3 theatre, Cassiopeia returned to her roots in journalism in 2022, winning two San Diego Press Club Awards for Excellence in Journalism. She has a bachelor's in journalism, an executive MBA, training in storytelling and photojournalism from National Geographic, and is currently working on a doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis in social justice. Cassiopeia's work can be found across a wide breadth of regional and national publications, but she currently writes for SanDiegoStory.com, San Diego Magazine, and On the Craft, and has appeared on local television at CBS, NBC, ABC, and KUSI. She is a member of the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle, San Diego Press Club, and American Theatre Critics Association, and is a judge for the annual Craig Noel Awards for professional theatre in San Diego.
